UK TRUCK operators are being invited to order the first right-hand drive versions of battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros rigids.
Aimed at those engaged in heavy-duty, short-haul distribution, the vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions and offer a range of up to 249 miles (400km). They are now available to order as a 4×2 or 6×2 chassis, with deliveries to UK customers beginning this month.
Dealers are also investing significant sums in the technical training and additional equipment needed to secure ‘eTruck-ready’ status for their workshops, with 17 locations already accredited confirmed Ross Paterson, head of special trucks at Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK.
