Every operator has to deal with the day to day occurrences of minor Road Traffic Incidents where drivers misjudge the position of the vehicle, and end up 'paint swapping' with other vehicles, bits of road furniture, building, canopies etc.
Thankfully the vast majority of these incidents involve just paint and minor damage. Whilst there is a cost associated with such instances, they still have consequences and they can have a detrimental effect on an operator's vehicle insurance policy.
Our HGV Manoeuvre practical onsite course with drivers discusses the common mistakes that are made, looks at the design and configuration of the vehicles concerned, the technology that is onboard that might be helping or hindering the movement of these vehicles and the ramifications for both the driver and the operator when dealing with these minor bumps and dents.
